Performances brings together body-painting actions documented through photography between 2013 and 2018. Paint leaves the fixed support and settles on bodies, which become coloured forms, collective presences and elements within an ephemeral composition. The photographs retain the trace of these situations without reducing them to scenery: position, contact, floor and exhibition space all participate in the work.
Sleepers 2 (2013) places painted bodies in a composition on the ground; colour distinguishes the figures while linking them together. Awakening (2014) and 9 Lives (2015) extend this work on the appearance of the coloured body in space. With The Layers (2016), accumulated paint, gestures and presences become a compositional principle; views made in Belgrade show the action from several distances. L’une (2018) marks the latest period represented in this group. From one performance to another, the series explores the shift between individual and group, photographic stillness and lived action. Photography is not a replacement for the event: it is its visual memory and the form through which it can be shared.
