Between 2021 and 2022, The Architecture of a Broken Sky uses acrylic on canvas to build expansive pictorial structures. The works do not depict an identifiable landscape. Instead, masses, lines, flashes of colour and open areas suggest a space in the process of being recomposed. The gesture remains visible through layers, drips and revisions, giving each canvas a physical rhythm.
The 2021 Diptych, measuring 300 × 180 cm, immediately asserts the series’ architectural scale: its two panels open a field large enough to hold contrast, circulation and rupture. Za Jecu (2022), 290 × 170 cm, continues the investigation in a vertical composition where colour gathers and disperses. The move from one work to the other is less a change of subject than a test of balance: how can a structure hold together without becoming fixed? Here, the “broken sky” names an open construction, traversed by the movement of paint, where space is formed through additions, collisions and pauses.
